A very interesting netmeeting.
In this netmeeting ,we spoke about patriotism in the USA.
Patriotism is very important in the USA and people have been feeling more united since the disaster, which happened on Tuesday September 11th.
Drew and Sarah told me that many people
in State College have American flags hanging from their windows and doors.
People in America teach them from early childhood to take great pride in
their country. It is different in France because nobody would think of putting
a French flag in front of his house. I asked them if they would die for
an idea. Sarah said that she didn't want to fight because she couldn't imagine
having to end another person's life. Personally,I agree with her.
Drew answered that if they went to war and he was drafted, he would fight
for his country . We also spoke about the people responsible for the attack,
who would be Oussama Bin Laden's men. They are afraid that if he is found
and arrested or killed, someone else may just take his place. He will have
many followers. Then,we talked about the church bells, which rang throughout
France on Friday in honor of those who died in this tragedy and their families.
It was important in France and in other countries to show that we feel concerned
by this disaster.
In fact, in this netmeeting we spoke about many of the subjects which are very important today. So,it was interesting and moving.
