on TALES from the EXPAT HAREM

1 READING The idea was first to study during the
English class some short stories from TALES FROM THE EXPAT HAREM published
by J Gökmen and A.Eaman and to meet the publisher in Istanbul
to discuss the issues of the book with her. A chat was also held on
this topic between the students from HEV school and Externat notre

2 CREATIVE WRITING -TANDEM WORK Secondly the students were given the task to write short stories based either on the main themes of the the two short stories (fear- prejudice- the other) or a photograph. The pages were first written by French students and continued by Turkish student and continued in turns so as to have ' nouvelles à quatre mains '. The results is 10 short stories including diaries plus a photoroman and a comic strip. Guidelines Click here to open the book

3 PHOTOROMAN In the art class students selected some passages of the short story RESCUED FROM VILLAGE INTELLIGENCE They took a series of photographs illustrating some particular moments, feelings and attitudes . This was a collaborative activity realised during the visit of the Turkish delegation in February 2009. |
