To be or not to be… a friend.

by Deniz , Joanna, Mathilde

No matter what country you are in, friendship is the same. Why is this so? In order to have a friendship with someone you should be able to trust that person. A friend is someone you can have fun with, or just talk to when you feel bad. On the topic of trust however, the best thing about a friend is that you can share your deepest darkest secrets with them. For example, you wouldn’t want everybody to know who you have a crush on. But there has been a few times in everyone’s life where a friend has betrayed them. This is when you learn who your real friends are.

“Always there for you”

This may sound cliché, but a friend is always there for you no matter what happens. There have probably been a few friends who have abandoned you when you needed them the most. But when do you really need your friends? There isn’t an correct answer for this because it changes, depending on the situation. Deniz, for example would confide in her friends when someone she loves dies. Joanna tells her friends information that she wouldn’t really want her parents finding out about. Mathilde looks to her friends when she learns of some bad news.

“Friendship is universal”

Friendship is universal, as mentioned before. The similarities we saw when the Turkish students came to Grenoble was to be expected. No matter what color, gender, or race, high school students were laughing all together.
