Dear Celine,

I think it’s not necessary for you to worry. Turkish people sleep late but you can tell them politely that you’re tired and that you want to go to sleep early. There are just some different habits of people. If everyone were the same, then there wouldn’t be different cultures at all, the world would be colorless or odourless. Different cultures are like different colors. They’re all different but beautiful in their own way. For example, in Turkey, there are lots of spicy food, but in France there’s a large variety of cheese.

By the way, in Turkey, there are lots of things to do and lots of places to see at night like the Bosphorus, so you wouldn’t even know you’re tired. The stores also don’t close after 7 like they do in France. What I’m trying to say is, meeting people from different cultures require tolerance. This is why both you and your friend should be respectful towards one another.
