We are four schools from four european countries : France, “Collège Alex Mézenc” in Le Pouzin (Ardèche)
Germany, “Erich Kästner-Schule” in Marburg (Hessen)
Ireland, “Gaelscoil” in Clonakilty (Cork County)
Italy, “Istituto Comprensivo Dalmazio Birago” in Passignano sul Trasimeno (Umbria).
We decided to join in a Comenius project, that is a project for education funded on the European Commission. We are going to work together during the school years 2013-2014 and 2014-2015.
We started from the idea that bridges are very common structures in our towns and our countries. They were built in different periods and are witnesses of how men have appropriated space around them. They also tell us a lot about our present and the ways we are linked to the others.
A second working theme results from the first : the bridges as symbols. What are the symbolic bridges for us and how shall we establish new ones ?
We will work those themes locally and on an european level. This website will be enriched as often as possible with the results of our work. Other productions will be exposed in our schools.
Thanks to this project pupils from our schools wil get to know each other, they will discover their differences and above all what they have in common.
Delegations from all schools will meet once in each country during the next two years.
The european citizenship will be reinforced between pupils from various origins, from different ages and also between able and disabled pupils.
