TRICK OR TREAT !

Publié le vendredi 30 octobre 2009.

Halloween is an old Celtic festival. In old English -hallow- means spirit and -een- means evening. It’s very important in Ireland, Britain and America. It is in Autumn, on October 31st and celebrates the end of summer. It’s also harvest time. That’s why apples, nuts and pumpkins are important. People decorate their homes, dress up in scary costumes and go to spooky parties. Children like wearing costumes of monsters, vampires, witches or ghosts to frighten people. They visit houses and say : ’trick or treat’ ! That means : ’If you don’t give me something good, like sweets, I’ll play bad jokes on you !’.
