Donauwelle is a German/Austrian cake which means ‘Danube Wave’. I first tried this succulent cake at the journée franco-allemande and directly fell in love with this intense, irresistible taste. It will bring you a brand new flavor so incredible that you might be addicted to it.However, you need to cook it well. This is why you should read on.

Ingredients

  • 250g butter
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 250g sugar
  • 300g of flour
  • 5eggs
  • 1tbs of cocoa powder
  • 2 glasses of cherries
  • 1 bar of dark chocolate
  • 1 packet of buttercream

I. pre-heat the oven at 180°. Mix the butter and sugar until creamy .add the 5 eggs mixing all the time. Add sifted flour and baking powder in the mixer.

II. Grease a baking tin. Divide the mixture in two. Put the cocoa powder in one of the two halves. Spoon one half of the mixture into the tin and then add the chocolate flavored one.after. Dry the cherries and put them in the mixture Cook for 30 minutes.

III. ”The cake” must cool down. Prepare the buttercream as written on the packet. Then spread the buttercream on the cake. Finally, cover the cake with dark chocolate.
