"Beep! Beep! Beeeeeeeep!"

" Already time to wake up! But I don’t start till the AFTERNOON !" That, was the first thought that came into my head. I had to be up at the crack of dawn, even though I didn’t start till the afternoon! I was going to spend the morning in my mum’s office with my friends Lily and Charlotte (I just hoped that my mum wasn’t going to be using her computer, so that then I might be able to play games on it) and it was only in the afternoon that I would start school again .

It was a morning like all others, rushing around, looking for the things we’d forgotten and faffing about. There was, however, a problem. The problem that everyone has, on this particular day. The problem was: what to wear? Jeans or shorts, sandals or shoes? All I knew, was that I was definitely going to wear my new top! And it was only when I was in the car, with my friends, on the way to my mum’s office, that it started to dawn on me that I was finally going to secondary school!

The morning in my mum’s office passed VERY slowly and by 11:30, my friends and I were positively starving. We arrived at the restaurant with plenty of time to spare, but by 12:15 our main course still hadn’t arrived ! And we hadn’t even ordered a starter .

When we arrived outside Europole, it was weird to find our old friends outside this scary new building and when the bell rang and the crowd started thronging towards the entrance, I only just had time to say a quick goodbye to my mother. In the playground children ran around everywhere, but when I finally figured out which class I was in, I was sort of relieved because I was placed in a class with most of my friends.

Later, we were lead into an enormous room. As soon as we sat down, the teachers immediately started to introduce themselves and explain, very complicated things, about how the school worked. I was trying to grasp the information but however many times they would repeat it, it was just too much to remember. There was also, after that, lots of paperwork to be given. The afternoon seemed to pass like a blur, but when I looked at the clock, I saw we still had a whole hour of school left. During that time an older student showed us around the school. The person who looked after me was nice and I could ask him all the questions to the things I didn’t understand but, by the end of the day, my head was buzzing and I was tired and I had the prospect of another day of school ahead.

The next day, I found out about my lessons but I also found out about the canteen and the lockers. To me, this new self service canteen was wonderful compared to the canteen we had at our old school because here, there is a variety of different starters, main courses and desserts. Later in the afternoon, it got very warm and we had our first English lesson. I got placed in Mrs. De Gaudenzi’s English class and we had a really good time despite the heat!

Now I have settled into the CSI it feels like I’ve been here for months, even years! Though it does feel a bit like being in "C.P." again because we are the youngest children in the school. The teachers seem nice and the classes are good (I especially like English and art). But best of all are the new friends we make at the CSI!
