Totally Crumbly Plum Pastry

The crunchiness of the crumbs alongside the juicy plums, above a chewy pastry. Wandering to heaven that is, because this afternoon you’ll be comfy on your sofa with a tasty German crumble.

Here’s what you’ll need: 850g plain flour 100g sugar vanilla essence 1 egg 200g of plums 60g melted butter lemon zest 20cl of milk 1 packet baking powder
And for the crumble : 200g cubed butter 2 big mugs of plain flour 1 big mug of sugar a pinch of cinnamon for the taste

Method:
1-Wash and cut the plumbs into fine bits. Put the plumbs in a pan with water and 40g of sugar.Then cook them over low heat. 2-Mix the flour, the milk, 1 egg, and the baking powder into a bowl. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
3-Cream the butter with the sugar, the zest, and the vanilla essence.
4-Carefully mix the two mixture together then lay it out into your baking tray.
5-Take the plums out (they should be transformed into a kind of marmalade) and lay them out onto your pastry evenly.
6-Then put the flour for the crumble, the sugar and the cinnamon in a bowl and rub in the cubes of butter in, with your fingers until you have sandy mixture.
7-Cover the plums with the crumbly mixture
8-Cook for 35 to 40 min at 220°c or gas mark 7 in the oven.
