Alex’s recipe by Léo With all the varieties of apples, the freedom to imagine any recipe you like is amazing. I recommend you succumb to temptation and try this recipe immediately to comfort yourself. This cake will satisfy your fondness for these adorable big round fruits, with all their smells, tastes and textures. Enjoy it and feel the mellow texture, just enough to take you into a world of fresh and succulent tastes. Ingredients 750 g. apples 200 g. plain flour 1-2 tbs. of milk 125 g. sugar 125 g. butter (keep a bit for greasing the tin) 3 eggs 2 tbs. self-raising powder 1 packet of vanilla essence a pinch of salt icing sugar

Method 1. For the topping, peel the apples, cut them in quarters, take out the pips. Make cuts on each quarter to decorate them. 2. Take all the remaining ingredients (except the icing sugar) and mix them together in a large bowl first with a whisk, then with a wooden spoon. Take a round tin (24-26 cm wide) and butter it. Pour the mixture in it and smooth the surface. On the preparation, position the apple slices at regular intervals. 3. Put the tin in the oven at 160-180°C for three-quarters of an hour. 4. After waiting patiently (I know it’s not easy) for the cake to bake, take it out of the oven and let it cool. Sprinkle icing sugar with a sieve to give a touch of lightness to this cake.
